British Defence Secretary John Healey has confirmed that any involvement of the British military in Ukraine will not affect security commitments to Estonia. He said this in an interview with the Estonian broadcaster ERR.

“Any deployment, any commitment that we make as part of the coalition of the willing, will not be at the expense of our work in Estonia,” Gili said, adding that this issue has already been discussed with Estonian Defence Minister Hinno Pevkur.

The UK has a personal and strategic commitment to Estonia, and sending security forces to Ukraine would not contradict that commitment.

As you know, London and Paris are actively discussing the possibility of deploying military instructors to Ukraine and strengthening coordination of efforts to support Kyiv.
