The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) continues to emphasise the absolute priority of bringing Israeli hostages home.
According to the IDF press service, the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, spoke on Sunday evening with the parents of soldier Edan Alexander, Yael and Adi, whose son is currently in captivity.
During the conversation, the general stressed that the hostage issue is at the centre of the army’s attention at every level of decision-making.
“We are doing everything we can to bring them back. I consider this a top priority for me personally and for the IDF. I am the commander of these soldiers, and this is in my mind in every decision I make,” the Chief of the General Staff said.
Edan Alexander’s family thanked Eyal Zamir for his support and reaffirming the IDF’s deep commitment to the return of all prisoners.
The IDF continues military operations in the Gaza Strip and diplomatic efforts to reach agreements on the release of hostages.
