The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a double agent of the Russian Federation, an instructor at the Yavoriv training ground, who worked simultaneously for the FSB and the GRU, in Lviv region. This was officially announced by the SSU press service on 14 April.

According to the investigation, the traitor was carrying out the task of Russian military intelligence to prepare terrorist attacks against the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who were undergoing combat training at the Yavoriv training ground.

The agent was given carte blanche by his Main Intelligence Directorate supervisors to choose how to eliminate the Ukrainian military. Among the scenarios developed were the installation of an improvised explosive device in the headquarters or a training building, the use of colleagues to bring explosives to training locations in the dark, or the targeting of a Russian missile strike at the coordinates of the personnel concentration.

The SSU CI timely exposed the agent’s criminal intentions and detained him at the preparatory stage – when he was collecting proposals for the elimination of Ukrainian commanders and passing them to the curator.

During the searches, the SSU seized three phones with SIM cards, which he used to covertly communicate with the occupiers.

In addition, his cooperation with an FSS agent was established, for whom he collected information on the number and specifics of the Armed Forces units training at the training ground.

The traitor has already been served a notice of suspicion under the article on high treason committed under martial law. He is being held in custody without the right to be released on bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
