On 14 April, 99 combat engagements took place on the frontline between Ukrainian defence forces and Russian troops. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a morning report on 15 April.
There was a decrease in the intensity of fighting – compared to the previous days, the number of incidents almost halved. The enemy remains most active in the Donetsk region.
The main directions of attacks by the Russian army:
- Pokrovske direction – 28 attacks
- Liman direction – 20 attacks
- Toretsk sector – 11 clashes
- Novopavlivka direction – 7 attacks
In addition, the enemy remains active on the Siverskyi, Kramatorsk, Orikhivskyi, Huliaypillia and Prydniprovskyi directions.
In the Kharkiv region, Russian troops conducted one assault in the area of Nova Kruhlyakivka near Kupiansk. There is no information on fighting near Vovchansk in the report.
What is happening in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation
According to the General Staff, in the Kursk region, part of which is still controlled by the Ukrainian Defence Forces, the Russian army made 17 offensive attempts over the past day. The occupiers also fired at their own positions more than 430 times and dropped 89 guided aerial bombs.
The situation at the front according to analysts
The US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in its report of 14 April noted the success of Ukrainian troops in Donetsk region, including advances in the areas of Siversk and Toretsk. At the same time, Russian troops have partially improved their positions near Siversk, Toretsk, Pokrovsk in Donetsk region and Kupiansk in Kharkiv region.
Losses of the Russian army per day
According to the General Staff, over the past day, the Ukrainian Defence Forces eliminated 1180 Russian occupants.
The Armed Forces were also destroyed:
- 27 tanks and armoured combat vehicles
- 68 artillery systems
- 2 multiple launch rocket systems
- 2 air defence systems
Fighting continues along the entire frontline. Ukrainian troops continue to hold back the Russian army’s offensive and inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy.
