In Kyiv, two Chinese citizens captured by the Ukrainian military in Donbas while fighting on the side of Russia spoke at a press conference calling on their compatriots not to repeat their mistake.
They said this during a briefing in Ukrinform.
The detained Chinese, 26-year-old Zhang Zhenbo and 33-year-old Wang Guangjun, were presented to journalists in Kyiv. They admitted that they had joined the war through ads on Chinese apps such as Kuaishou and Douyin(analogous to TikTok), through which they joined the Russian army.
The Chinese captured last week stated at a press conference that they hope for China's assistance in a prisoner exchange. They also shared that they nearly died from Russian chemical weapons and expressed their desire to return home. pic.twitter.com/2BJooy9Ocb
