On 15 April 2025, the Ukrainian Defence Forces successfully regained control of positions near the village of Vidrodzhennia, three kilometres south of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, as well as in the Dniproenergia area in the Novopavlivka direction. This was reported by DeepState.

According to DeepState, Ukrainian troops pushed back the Russian occupiers, regaining the positions they had lost in the area of Vidrodzhennia. A similar success was achieved in the Novopavlivka sector, where the Defence Forces regained control of positions in the Dniproenergia area. These actions demonstrate the effectiveness of Ukrainian counter-offensive operations in key sectors of the frontline.

At the same time, the situation in the Pokrovsk sector remains complicated. Russian troops made a tactical advance in the areas of Nadiyivka and Sukhoi Balka, trying to strengthen their positions southwest of Pokrovsk and Toretsk. Analysts note that Russian forces continue to actively advance, using their superiority in manpower and equipment.

The Pokrovske area remains one of the hottest spots on the frontline. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 80 combat engagements were recorded in the area on 2 April alone, accounting for more than a third of all fighting along the entire frontline. Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, using drones and innovative tactics that inflict significant losses on Russian troops.

DeepState emphasises that despite the localised successes of Russian forces, Ukrainian troops have demonstrated resilience and the ability to launch effective counterattacks. The international community continues to closely monitor the situation, as the battle for Pokrovsk is of strategic importance for the control of the Donetsk region.
