Israel carried out a targeted air strike on a terrorist who was responsible for Hezbollah’s communications throughout Lebanon.
On Friday, 19 April, the Israeli Air Force carried out a targeted air strike near the city of Saida (Sidon) in southern Lebanon. As a result of the strike, Muhammad Jafar Mannah Asaad Abdullah, one of the key operatives of the Hezbollah terrorist organisation, was killed. This was reported by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF).
According to the military, Abdallah took an active part in the preparation and implementation of terrorist attacks against the State of Israel, in particular, he was responsible for the deployment of Hezbollah’s communication systems throughout Lebanon, including areas south of the Litani River, where restrictions are in place under international agreements.
“His actions are a blatant violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon and pose a direct threat to Israeli civilians,” the IDF said in a statement.
The airstrike is part of Israel’s ongoing campaign against Hezbollah’s military infrastructure, which has been regularly attacking northern Israel from Lebanon since the start of the Gaza war.
