On the night of 22 April, Russian troops conducted another air strike in the Kharkiv region. Around 4:40 a.m., the occupiers dropped a guided aerial bomb (GAB) on the village of Horokhovatka in Izium district. The hit caused a large-scale fire, and two civilians were injured.
This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor ‘s Office and the head of the DACK, Oleg Sinegubov, on Telegram.
“The CAB hit the territory of the private residential sector – four houses caught fire,” the investigation said.
Consequences of the impact
As a result of the attack, a 55-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were injured.
In total, more than 10 private households were damaged, as well as local shops and post offices.
According to the Kharkiv JMA, the day before, on 21 April, the enemy had already shelled the same village with MRLS. A hit to the garden caused the structural elements of an outbuilding and a garage to catch fire over an area of more than 100 m². Windows and roofs of four private houses, a kiosk and a post office were damaged.
Other attacks in Kharkiv region
On the same evening, 21 April, at 20:45, Russians dropped an explosive device from a drone on the town of Kupiansk, damaging a gas pipe. A 58-year-old woman was injured and suffered a concussion.
Also in the village of Ivashky, Bohodukhiv district, a Russian FPV drone hit a 24-year-old man riding a scooter. He died on the spot from his injuries.
Government response
The head of the JMA, Sinegubov, reiterated that Russia was targeting civilian infrastructure and civilians.
“These attacks are yet another evidence of the terrorist tactics of the Russian army. We are working to restore and help the victims,” he said.
