Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced increased cooperation with Saudi Arabia in strategic energy sectors during his two-day visit to the Kingdom. In an interview with Arab News published on Tuesday, the Indian leader said that the two countries are exploring joint projects in the oil refining and petrochemical sectors.

“Our teams are working on feasibility studies for a number of large-scale initiatives, including grid integration between India, Saudi Arabia and the wider region,” Modi said.

According to him, the strategic partnership between the two countries has reached a new level, with a special focus on energy security, green transformation and mutual infrastructure integration.

The upcoming agreements are expected to strengthen economic ties between the countries and facilitate the creation of new logistics and technology corridors in Asia and the Middle East.
