US President Donald Trump has reacted harshly to Russia’s recent massive missile attacks on Kyiv, which have caused civilian casualties. During a speech at a rally in Florida, Trump called the Kremlin’s actions “brutal” and addressed the Russian president directly:
“Stop, Vladimir, this madness must end.”
The politician also stressed that the world should not tolerate barbaric attacks on civilian infrastructure and civilians. He again promised that if he returned to the White House, he would “stop the war in 24 hours”, but did not elaborate on the mechanism.
This statement caused a wide resonance in US political circles and once again drew attention to Trump’s ambitions to influence geopolitics if he wins the election.
