On the morning of 28 April 2025, the Ukrainian Air Force lost a Su-27 fighter jet during a complex combat mission to provide air support to troops and repel an air attack by enemy attack drones. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Air Force Command.
The pilot ejected in time. The search and rescue team promptly arrived at the pilot’s landing site and took him to a medical facility for examination. It is noted that the pilot’s condition is stable, there is no threat to life and health.
A specially created commission is currently investigating the causes of the incident and has already started its work.
Losses of aircraft in combat missions remain a serious challenge for the Ukrainian Armed Forces amid constant attacks by Russian kamikaze drones and air strikes on Ukrainian territory.
