In Canada’s federal election, Prime Minister Mark Carney’s Liberal Party retained power but failed to win a parliamentary majority, which was critical to effectively negotiating with the Donald Trump administration over tariffs. According to the CTV News forecast, the Liberals won 156 seats out of the required 172 for a majority in the House of Commons, while the Conservatives won 145 seats.
Thus, the Liberal Party will have to seek the support of smaller political forces to form a stable government.
