U.S. Senator Marco Rubio believes that the signing of a strategic agreement between the United States and Ukraine to establish a Critical Minerals Investment Fund is not only an economic initiative but also a significant geopolitical step towards ending the war, he wrote on social media site X.
He made the statement after the signing of the document between the Ukrainian delegation headed by First Vice Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and US officials, including US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
“This is a powerful signal not only of our support for Ukraine, but also of our willingness to build a long-term partnership in critical resources. This can accelerate the end of the war,” Rubio said.
According to him, the United States is interested not only in rebuilding Ukraine, but also in reducing global dependence on authoritarian regimes for strategic materials. The new fund, based on the principle of equal partnership, will provide investment, protection of Ukraine’s interests and transparent rules of the game for international participants.
