Police officers in Dnipro region exposed a large-scale drug gang that earned up to UAH 12 million a month from the manufacture and sale of psychotropic substances. This was reported by the press service of the National Police.

The illegal laboratory, which was uncovered by law enforcement, produced about 15 kg of psychotropic drugs, including amphetamine and Alpha-PVP, every month.

The organiser of the scheme was a 24-year-old resident of Kryvyi Rih, who developed a system of production, transportation and distribution. Dozens of people were involved in the activity: packers, couriers, “planters” and delivery operators who sent large batches of drugs by post to different regions of Ukraine.

“Law enforcement officers conducted 17 searches in homes, cars and a drug lab. More than 6 kg of A-PVP, 1 kg of amphetamine, 1.6 kg of cannabis, mephedrone, ecstasy, precursors, laboratory equipment, three cars, cash, phones, bank cards, and draft records were seized,” the police said.

The investigation is ongoing. The defendants face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
