On Tuesday, 20 May, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga will visit Brussels to attend a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union. The visit takes place at the invitation of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

During the meeting, Siberia:

  • will brief his EU colleagues on the current situation on the battlefield;
  • will provide an assessment of the dynamics of peace efforts following meetings in Turkey and negotiations between the US, EU, Ukraine and Russia;
  • will call for maintaining pressure on the Kremlin and strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities.

Focus on shared security

The Foreign Ministry notes that the Minister will emphasise the indivisibility of the security of Ukraine and the Euro-Atlantic community, and will stress the need for decisive joint action to achieve a just and sustainable peace.

“Ukraine needs unity, strength and further support. Only together can we resist Russian aggression,” the diplomatic ministry said.
