Following another Russian attack on Ukrainian cities on Saturday night, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna called on the international community to take more decisive action against the Kremlin. He wrote about this in the social network X.
“Russia’s ongoing aggression has a simple explanation – it has not been subjected to sufficient pressure to stop,” Tsahkna said. He stressed that Ukraine’s allies have a moral and political obligation to increase military assistance to Kyiv, impose tougher sanctions, confiscate frozen Russian assets and neutralise the activities of the “shadow fleet” that helps Russia circumvent restrictions.
The minister also stressed that Russia can only be deterred through the collective determination of the West: “The power to change this lies in our hands.”
Tsahkna’s statement came amid growing intensity of attacks on Ukrainian cities and increased calls for increased pressure on Russia in preparation for the June G7 summit.
