Russia is planning to submit its proposals to Ukraine in the near future as part of the so-called “peace memorandum” to resolve the war. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev, according to Russian Telegram channels.
“We are working on this memorandum. Firstly, it is at the final stage. Secondly, I expect that the relevant Russian developments will be handed over to the opposite side in the coming days,” Kosachev said.
At the same time, he said, the content of the document will not be made public, as “this is a very complex and delicate negotiation process”.
There has been no official confirmation from the Ukrainian side. It is also unclear whether this is an initiative within the framework of the announced “peace summit” in Switzerland, which is due to take place in June, and at which Ukraine will insist on its own “peace formula”.
It is worth noting that any proposals from the Russian Federation are sceptical given the lack of withdrawal of troops from the territory of Ukraine, the continuation of hostilities and the blocking of humanitarian corridors.
