As part of the third stage of the large-scale exchange of prisoners of war between Ukraine and Russia, which was agreed upon with the mediation of Turkey, 303 Ukrainian soldiers returned home.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his Telegram on Saturday, 25 May.

“303 Ukrainian defenders are at home. The third part of the exchange in the format of 1000 for 1000, which was agreed upon in Turkey, has been completed,” the Head of State stressed.

the country returned 303 servicemen from Russian captivity as part of the third phase of the 1000 for 1000 exchange. Zelensky thanked the team and promised: “We will return everyone.”

Among those released are members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service and the State Special Transport Service.

Zelensky thanked the entire team, which “worked around the clock to achieve the result”, and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to return all Ukrainians from Russian captivity without exception:

“We will definitely return each and every person from Russian captivity,” the President said.

The exchange took place as part of the agreements reached during negotiations in Turkey, which mediated between the parties. The first two rounds of exchanges in this format took place earlier in May, each of which also involved 300 troops.
