Despite the huge losses of manpower and equipment, the Russian occupation forces maintain the manning of assault units at 80-100%.
Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Southern Defence Forces, said this on the national TV marathon.
“Their assault units are actually manned from 100% to 80%. This means that despite the huge losses – 120-150 people a day in our areas and about 50-60 pieces of equipment – the enemy still continues to attack,” Voloshyn said.
According to him, Russia is preparing new assault forces at training grounds located in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Crimea. It is from there that units are being formed for attacks by small infantry groups.
“In large-scale assaults, the enemy suffers extremely high losses. That is why he chose the tactic of constant pressure with small mobile groups,” explained the spokesman.
Motorcycles have become a symbol of this new tactic: according to Voloshyn, each assault company now has 30-35 lightweight vehicles for quick attacks and manoeuvring.
“The Russians are throwing virtually all available infantry into the battle, particularly in the southern direction,” he concluded.
