Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha‎ has set new priorities for Ukraine’s diplomatic corps: systematic counteraction not only to Russia but also to the hostile regimes of Belarus, Iran and the DPRK. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following an online meeting.

Key areas of focus:

  • mobilising diplomatic efforts to achieve peace;
  • increased sanctions pressure, in particular on the banking and energy sectors of the Russian Federation;
  • active opposition to Russia’s international partners who support its aggression.

“Sybiga stressed the need for a resolute diplomatic struggle against all regimes that help Moscow wage war,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The Minister also informed about the outcome of the meeting in Istanbul on 2 June, where Russia once again rejected the ceasefire, which only increases the need for further sanctions.

The next steps in diplomacy are active participation in international forums:

  • Ukraine – South-Eastern Europe summit;
  • The Hague NATO Summit;
  • G7 summit in Canada;
  • European Council meeting in Brussels.
