A DeHaviland DH-6 Twin Otter light passenger plane carrying 20 people crashed in Tennessee, USA. The crash occurred on Sunday at around 12:30 local time, near Tallahoma Regional Airport. AFP reports this with reference to local police and rescue services.

Despite the fact that parts of the aircraft were torn apart during the crash, all passengers survived. At least four people were seriously injured: three were evacuated by helicopter to hospitals, and another was taken by car. The rest of the victims suffered minor injuries and were examined on the spot.

“We are grateful that the consequences were limited to injuries. Our thoughts are with all those who survived the incident and we wish them a speedy recovery,” said a spokesperson for the emergency service at a press conference.

The cause of the crash has not yet been established. It is only known that the crash occurred shortly after take-off.

Investigators from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are working at the scene.
