A Qantas Airlines passenger airliner flying from London to Singapore made an emergency landing at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku. This was reported by OXU.az.
The reason for the emergency measure was a sharp change in the health of one of the passengers on board. The Public Relations Service of Azerbaijan International Airports confirmed that the Airbus A380 landed safely in Baku at 07:55 local time.
The passenger was immediately provided with medical assistance. Doctors are currently conducting additional diagnostics and monitoring his health.
The Airbus A380 is the largest passenger aircraft in the world, capable of carrying more than 800 people in economy class configuration. Due to its size, this type of aircraft can only serve a limited number of airports that have special infrastructure.
Heydar Aliyev International Airport fully meets these requirements – it is equipped with wide runways, modern ground equipment and a technical base that allows it to receive A380 aircraft.
