President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has heard a report from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation at the front. He said this in his evening address.
The Head of State noted that special and significant attention had been paid to the situation in the Pokrovske direction and in the border areas of Sumy region.
“Special and very significant attention is paid to the Pokrovske direction and Sumy region – the border areas of our Sumy region. We manage to drive Russian troops out of there. I am grateful to all our units for this, which really provide results,” the President stressed.
Zelenskyy did not provide details on specific localities or the scale of the advance, but his statement indicates that Ukrainian forces are actively engaged in critical areas of the frontline.
In recent weeks, the Russian Federation has intensified shelling of the border areas of Sumy region in an attempt to expand the combat zone. At the same time, fierce fighting is taking place near Pokrovsk (Donetsk region), where the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding back the enemy’s advance and conducting counterattacks.
