Israel is ready to stop attacks on Iran if Tehran agrees to US demands on its nuclear programme

Israel will end its military campaign against Iran if it agrees to US demands for the complete curtailment of its nuclear programme. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this in an interview with Fox News, The Times of Israel reports.

“The issue is to stop what threatens our survival… If they are willing to accept President Donald Trump’s terms, that’s another thing,” Netanyahu said.

Otherwise, according to the head of government, Israeli attacks will continue until Iran’s nuclear capabilities are destroyed:

“We will eliminate these opportunities. And we will do it.”

The prime minister also noted that the change of power in Tehran is not Israel’s goal, but could result from military pressure, as the Iranian regime is “very weak”.

Netanyahu said that Israel had shared intelligence with the United States that Iran was close to developing nuclear weapons:

“It was very clear that they were working on a secret plan to turn uranium into a weapon. They could have produced the first weapon in a few months.”

He stressed that Israel and the United States are “fully coordinating their actions” and refused to disclose details about the possibility of striking targets located deep underground:

“We also have many initiatives and many tricks up our sleeve.”

In addition, the Prime Minister confirmed that Israel had eliminated the Chief of Intelligence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Mohammad Qazemi and his deputy, Hassan Mohaqiq, in Tehran.

This statement came amid an escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran following the rocket attack on Bat Yam, which killed five Ukrainians, and Israeli air strikes on Iran’s Mashhad airport.
