On the night of 22 June, Russian troops launched another massive attack on Ukrainian territory, using kamikaze drones, missiles and imitators. The defence forces neutralised 28 of the 47 enemy drones, the Ukrainian Air Force reported on Telegram.
The main details of the attack
According to the military, the enemy attacked Ukraine from 21:00 on Saturday:
- 2 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the territory of Voronezh and Rostov regions;
- 1 S-300 missile from the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region;
- 47 Shahed-type attack drones and other imitation drones launched from the Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk areas.
The main focus of the attack was Chernihiv region.
Actions of the Defence Forces
The attack was repelled:
- Air Force;
- Electronic warfare (EW) units;
- Mobile fire teams.
By the morning of 22 June, as a result of the successful air defence operation:
- 18 drones were destroyed by firepower;
- 10 lost/suppressed due to EWB.
Consequences of the shelling
Despite the significant success of air defence, enemy weapons were recorded in at least seven locations, including in the territory:
- Chernihiv region;
- Sumy region;
- Odesa region.
