Norway, together with its Ukrainian partners, is organising the production of maritime combat drones directly in Ukraine. This was reported by the Norwegian Ministry of Defence on social network X.

It is noted that Norway is allocating about NOK 6.7 billion (approximately EUR 580 million) to support the Maritime Coalition, which the country leads jointly with the UK.

“Part of this funding will be used to develop and manufacture unmanned maritime vessels using Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) technologies, which will be based in Ukraine,” said Norwegian Defence Minister Tore Onshuus Sandvik.

The Norwegian company Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has already signed an agreement with a Ukrainian partner to jointly develop and produce surface drones that will help Ukraine effectively defend its territory and neutralise threats from the Russian fleet in the Black Sea.

“Unmanned vessels play an important role in helping Ukraine defend its territory and neutralise the Russian fleet in the Black Sea,” the ministry said.
