On 3 September, a grand military parade will be held in the Chinese capital on Tiananmen Square to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the War of Resistance of the Chinese People Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. This was announced at a briefing by Wu Jieke, an officer of the Joint Staff of the Central Military Commission of the People’s Republic of China, Time Ukraine Israel reports.

According to him, all branches of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army will take part in the parade:

  • ground force calculations;
  • columns of modern armoured vehicles and missile systems;
  • air echelons of fifth-generation fighters and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Special emphasis will be placed on the latest combat capabilities:

  • artificial intelligence in unmanned systems;
  • underwater combat units;
  • cyber and electronic troops;
  • hypersonic weapons.

“All the equipment and weapons on display are made in China and are in service with the PLA. The parade will reflect the new format of joint command, operations and support between all branches of the armed forces,” Wu Jieke said.

This event will be the centrepiece of a series of events across the country to mark the end of World War II in Asia. Unlike European dates, China commemorates the surrender of Japan on 2 September 1945, a key event in the end of the War of Resistance and the establishment of peace in the Asian region.
