US President Donald Trump on Tuesday publicly accused Israel and Iran of violating the ceasefire, Reuters reports.
“Israel. Do not drop these bombs. If you do, it will be a serious violation. Bring your pilots home, now!” Trump wrote on Truth Social, shortly after leaving the White House for the NATO summit in The Hague.
The US President added: “The ceasefire is in effect. Please do not violate it!”
Trump’s statement followed the words of Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz, who said that he had ordered new strikes on targets in Tehran in response to what he said were Iranian missiles fired at Israeli territory. Katz called it a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire.
Iran, on the other hand, denies that any missiles were launched, claiming that Israeli attacks continued for another hour and a half after the official start of the ceasefire.
Before boarding the plane, Trump also told reporters that he was “unhappy” with the actions of both sides, stressing that he was particularly disappointed with Israel, which, in his words, “unloaded” immediately after agreeing to a ceasefire.
