Over the past week, export prices for Ukrainian wheat increased to USD 212-215 per tonne. This is reported by the Electronic Grain Exchange with reference to data as of 15 July.
The growth was driven by a delayed harvest and low yields in southern Ukraine. According to analysts, the limited supply on the market is stimulating increased purchasing activity in the Black Sea ports.
According to the exchange, during the week the price of milling wheat increased by 2-3 USD/t to 10 200-10 400 UAH/t (212-215 USD/t). Feed wheat went up by 4-5 USD/t to 9 800-10 000 UAH/t (205-208 USD/t), which reduces the gap between price categories.
As of 11 July 2025, Ukraine harvested 1.24 mln tonnes of wheat from the area of 434.8 thou hectares with the average yield of 2.85 t/ha. In the central regions, yields were higher at 5-6 t/ha, and grain quality supported the growth of feed wheat prices.
However, export volumes in the first two weeks of the 2025/2026 marketing year declined significantly to 172 thsd tonnes, compared to 732 thsd tonnes in the same period last year.
Prices for French, Russian, Romanian, American and Australian wheat are rising on the global markets – from USD 2 to USD 7 per tonne, which supports Ukrainian exports. At the same time, Argentine wheat fell to $229/t for delivery to ports.
The expected precipitation may temporarily slow down the harvest in Ukraine, but it will also improve the conditions for growing late crops.
As a reminder, on 11 July, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) released an updated forecast of the global agricultural balance for the 2025/2026 marketing year, which reduced the forecast of Ukrainian wheat production.
