The goal of the “Patriots for Europe” alliance is to become the strongest right-wing group in European politics

Viktor Orban, together with the politicians of the Czech Republic and Austria, is creating a new far-right faction in the European Parliament

Vienna, June 30 – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, together with politicians from the Czech Republic and Austria, founded a new alliance called “Patriots for Europe”. This event took place on Sunday, June 30, and was covered by Euronews.

A new alliance aimed at uniting Europe’s far-right political forces has ambitions to become the strongest right-wing group in European politics. In Vienna, the “Patriots for Europe” manifesto was signed by the president of the Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ), Herbert Kikl, the former prime minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babis, who is the leader of the ANO party, and Viktor Orban himself.

Viktor Orban said in his statement:

“Europeans want three things: peace, order and development. All they get from the current Brussels elite is war, migration and stagnation. In this situation, our duty is to ensure the will of the voters. Today, three political parties united: the strongest party of Austria, the strongest party of the Czech Republic and the strongest party of Hungary. Our goal is to become the strongest right-wing group in European politics.”

All three parties that joined the newly formed alliance are known for their far-right and pro-Russian views. According to the rules of the European Parliament, in order to create a new faction, it is necessary that its members include representatives of four more countries, since it can consist of at least 23 MEPs from seven EU states.

This alliance can have a significant impact on the future of European politics, contributing to the unification of right-wing forces and increasing their influence in the European Parliament.
