The Russian Ministry of Justice has updated its registry of foreign agents, adding six new names. The newly published list on the official portal includes:
• Farida Kurbangaleeva, a former TV presenter on the channel “Russia-1,” now wanted;
• Daria Heikinen, former head of Boris Nadezhdin’s headquarters in Saint Petersburg;
• Dmitry Spirin, former frontman of the band “Tarakan”;
• Konstantin Pakhalyuk, political scientist;
• Ilya Shablinsky, former member of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights and lawyer;
• Alexander Shurshev, journalist from Saint Petersburg.The Ministry of Justice claims that these individuals actively opposed the special military operation, participated in creating materials for foreign agents, and spread false information about the Russian Armed Forces and government decisions. Shablinsky and Pakhalyuk are also accused of engaging with undesirable foreign organizations.
Of the listed individuals, only Heikinen resides in Russia; the others are currently abroad.
It is noteworthy that just a week ago, the registry was updated to include director and screenwriter Roman Kachanov, lawyer and human rights activist Alexey Pryanishnikov, political technologist and former candidate for the head of Udmurtia Sergey Antonov, and former municipal deputies from Saint Petersburg Vladimir Volokhonsky and Nikita Kirillov.
These actions continue to spark discussions and criticism both domestically and internationally, raising questions about freedom of speech and human rights in Russia.
