Increase in Diesel and Gasoline Excise Duties Threatens Agricultural Sector

Зернові культури

The increase in diesel and gasoline excise duties initiated by the government will worsen the situation in the agricultural sector, as farmers are already operating on the verge of unprofitability. The Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA) has appealed to the government to reconsider its decision to raise fuel tariffs.

UGA President Mykhailo Horbachov stated that the additional fuel costs could be critical for many farmers. “Our farmers are already working under extremely challenging conditions, and any additional burden could lead to significant losses. We urge the government to take this situation into account and reconsider its decision,” he emphasized.

Horbachov also noted that the increase in diesel and gasoline excise duties could negatively affect the entire country’s economy, as the agricultural sector is one of its key components. “We call on the government for dialogue and the search for compromise solutions that will support farmers during this difficult time,” the UGA president concluded.
