Yoav Gallant: “The time to strike Iran is now, we must seize the opportunity”

Former Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Galant called for taking advantage of Iran’s current weakness to strike, saying that “Iran’s goal is without a goalkeeper, you can score a goal”. In his interview, he stressed that the time for action is limited, and Israel must destroy Iran’s capabilities, even if the United States refuses to participate in a military operation. Gallant also criticised the use of Qatar as a mediator in hostage negotiations, saying that the talks should be led by Egypt. His statement caused a wide resonance, reflecting the tense situation in the region and domestic political challenges in Israel.
