IMF Forecast: Ukraine’s Economic Growth to Slow in 2024

МВФ

Ukraine’s economic growth is expected to slow to 3% in 2024 due to the impact of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, war-related challenges in the labor market, and decreased business activity. This projection comes from a recent International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast, as outlined in a press release from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on September 11.

The IMF also predicts inflation will accelerate to 9%. Ensuring energy stability before the winter will be crucial, requiring coordinated efforts, including support from international partners.

Looking ahead, economic growth for 2025 is forecasted at 2.5-3.5%, though the risks remain high, according to the NBU.
