Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law that will gradually raise excise taxes on various types of fuel until 2028.

This legislation is part of the integration of European Union regulations into Ukrainian law. The announcement was made by Member of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak on his Telegram channel on September 2.

The law, identified as Bill No. 11256-2, was passed by the Verkhovna Rada on July 18 and will take effect starting September 1, 2024. According to the bill, excise taxes on gasoline will increase to €359 per 1,000 liters, on diesel fuel to €330 per 1,000 liters, and on liquefied gas to €250 per 1,000 liters by 2028.

This move aims to gradually align Ukraine’s tax legislation with European standards and could significantly impact the country’s fuel market.
