Tel HaShomer, August 15 — The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, met with new recruits of the Paratroopers Brigade at the enlistment center in Tel HaShomer. In his speech, he emphasized the critical importance of combating the terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The Need to Combat Hamas

General Halevi stated that the Paratroopers Brigade is actively engaged in fighting in the Gaza Strip with the aim of dismantling Hamas. This includes eliminating the organization’s commanders, inflicting damage, destroying as many of its militants as possible, and dismantling Hamas infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.

“After the events of October 7, we are not prepared for such a level of presence and capability of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. We are extremely determined on this issue, and thanks to new recruits who are very valuable, strong, and resolute, we will know how to show persistence,” he emphasized.

Unity and Common Purpose

“All the recruits come from different places and homes, and that’s good. In the IDF, we welcome everyone with great joy. When does the unit become better? When different people see a common goal and can work together towards achieving one mission,” added General Halevi.

In turn, the recruits expressed their readiness to serve and confirmed their determination to fight for the security and protection of Israel.
