IDF Eliminates Hamas Terrorist Responsible for Arms Smuggling

Successful IDF Operation

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced the successful elimination of Hamas militant Wissam Abu Ishaq, responsible for arms smuggling. Abu Ishaq was killed by a drone strike in southern Gaza.

The IDF stated that Abu Ishaq was heavily involved in supplying weapons through the Rafah border crossing and tunnels to Egypt. His role in these smuggling operations was significant.

Strikes on Gaza Targets

Israeli forces reported a powerful airstrike on a rocket range in Rafah and the destruction of several targets in Gaza, including booby-trapped buildings, terrorist facilities, tunnels, and militant cells. IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi mentioned that Israeli forces have nearly dismantled Hamas’s Rafah Brigade.

Rafah Operation Nearing End

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noted that the operation in Rafah is nearing its end, with the military campaign in Gaza moving to the next phase.

Hamas’s Response to U.S. Proposal

The U.S. State Department reported receiving a response from Hamas regarding an American proposal for a hostage release deal and a temporary ceasefire in Gaza.
