According to cursorinfo, Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz has made a significant allegation regarding financial connections between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the terrorist organization Hamas. In a recent statement on X, Katz highlighted the financial implications involving the Turkish president.

Financial Connections with Hamas

“This week a conflict emerged involving Erdogan,” Katz wrote. “The sons of Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, approached him demanding $3 billion held in Turkish bank accounts under their father’s name. Erdogan refused to release these funds. How did Haniyeh, born in the Shati refugee camp, amass such enormous wealth? How many Palestinians in Gaza could live comfortably if this money were used for their benefit? And most importantly, what is Erdogan’s involvement with this money? The phrase ‘Follow the money’ is relevant here,” Katz emphasized.

Erdogan’s Response

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had previously condemned the assassination of Hamas political bureau head Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. “I strongly condemn and curse the treacherous murder committed in Tehran against the head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh,” Erdogan stated on X.

Erdogan described the killing as “a vile attempt to undermine the Palestinian cause and the proud resistance of Gaza,” calling on the Islamic world to unite to end the war in Gaza and reaffirming Turkey’s commitment to supporting the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
