Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, addressing the weekly Israeli government session on June 23, 2024, emphasized the imperative of ensuring the safety of residents in both the southern and northern regions of the country. He underscored the commitment to rebuilding communities and advancing development across all areas.

To achieve these goals, Netanyahu announced the appointments of Reserve Major General Yiftah Ron-Tal to head the “Tkuma” Administration in the South, and Reserve Rear Admiral Eliezer (Cheyne) Marom to lead the Northern Administration. He expressed confidence in their capabilities and urged full ministerial support for their initiatives.

Acknowledging Israel’s gratitude for the moral and material support from President Biden and the U.S. administration since the conflict’s onset, Netanyahu also voiced concerns over a recent significant reduction in U.S. arms deliveries to Israel. Despite repeated high-level appeals for expedited supplies, Netanyahu highlighted persistent delays affecting critical military provisions.

In a significant departure from private negotiations, Netanyahu publicly addressed these supply challenges, citing the necessity to resolve the issue decisively. He anticipated personal attacks for his stance, reminiscent of previous controversies involving Iran’s nuclear deals and opposition to Palestinian statehood.

Netanyahu reaffirmed his commitment to equipping Israeli forces with superior combat capabilities and expressed optimism that ongoing discussions would yield prompt resolutions. He concluded with a steadfast belief in the resilience and resolve of Israeli fighters, emphasizing their pivotal role in safeguarding the nation’s security.
