As reported by the official channel of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram, a recent meeting with U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Economic Recovery, Penny Pritzker, highlighted the continued and vital support from the U.S. for Ukraine’s recovery. The meeting emphasized the urgency of implementing international support.

Gratitude for Financial Support and Implementation of Initiatives

During the meeting, there was a discussion not only about the gratitude for the G7 countries’ decision to provide $50 billion to Ukraine from future revenues of frozen Russian assets but also about the importance of promptly implementing this initiative. The Ukrainian side stressed the need for these funds to be available from 2025 and to be directed towards all critical needs, including military expenses.

Priorities and Multi-Donor Coordination Platform

The discussion also covered the work of the Multi-Donor Coordination Platform. For Ukraine, priorities include funding budgetary expenditures, infrastructure reconstruction, and energy sector support. An important point was the confirmation of $7.85 billion in direct budgetary support from the U.S. this year, with the first $3.9 billion expected in the coming weeks.

Systematic Approach to Project Financing

The Ukrainian government is also implementing a systematic approach to financing economic recovery projects. The first meeting of the Strategic Investment Council under the Ukrainian government has already taken place. Over the next two months, a list of public investment projects for 2025 is planned to be approved and presented to partners.

Additional Energy Assistance from the U.S.

Equally significant is the U.S. announcement of $500 million in new energy assistance and the reallocation of previously announced $324 million for urgent energy needs in Ukraine. Support for the energy sector is critically important for restoring infrastructure damaged by the enemy.

Support and Resilience of Partners

The Ukrainian side expressed renewed gratitude to the U.S. for unwavering support in the fight for freedom and independence. The partnership between Ukraine and the U.S. remains crucial during this challenging time, with joint efforts contributing to Ukraine’s victory.

The meeting with Penny Pritzker reaffirmed that international support continues to be key to Ukraine’s successful recovery and achievement of long-term goals.
