Ukrainian Coins Recognized as the Best in the World: Three Awards at the International Competition

“Courage to Be.UA” Wins in “Best Coin about a Modern Event” Category

The Ukrainian silver commemorative coin “Courage to Be.UA” has won the “Best Coin about a Modern Event” category at the “Coin of the Year” international competition. This coin also made it to the top ten coins in the world according to the competition results. This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine.

High Recognition for Ukrainian Coins

The “Coin of the Year” international competition, held for the 41st year, is organized by the renowned numismatic publication World Coin News with support from The Journal of East Asian Numismatics. This year, experts reviewed nearly 600 coins from 42 countries released in 2023.

In the first round of the competition, 100 best coins were selected, among which three Ukrainian coins made the list:

  1. “Courage to Be.UA” – Winner in the “Best Coin about a Modern Event” category.
  2. “Country of Superheroes. Thank You, Power Engineers” – “Most Artistic Coin” category.
  3. “Friendship and Brotherhood – The Greatest Wealth” – “Most Inspiring Coin” category (Ukrainian-Polish set of two silver coins with denominations of 10 hryvnias and 10 zlotys).

Best Coin of 2024 – The $100 gold coin “Freedom through Resilience” from the U.S. Mint.

Most Historically Significant Coin – 2000 silver francs from Cameroon.

Best Silver Coin – Issued by Austria.

Best Crown Coin – From the Cook Islands.

Best Circulation Coin – Chinese 5 yuan.

Most Artistic Coin – From Latvia.

Most Innovative Coin – 200 euros from France.

Most Inspiring Coin – From Canada.
