Last night, another episode of full-scale conflict was recorded in the Sumy region, which resulted in a ballistic missile attack. According to the acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, the missile attack took place outside of the settlements, which avoided civilian casualties.

The missile strike is part of a broader Russian military campaign that saw a record number of attack drones deployed overnight – 267. This was the largest single drone attack in the history of the war. The Ukrainian defence forces managed to shoot down 138 of them, using Shahed and other models, while 119 drones were lost without further incident.

According to Kobzar, such attacks not only pose a threat to the security of the region, but also demonstrate the need for increased international support and cooperation in the field of defence.

This event is a reminder of the need to take additional measures to protect civilians and infrastructure in Ukraine, especially in areas adjacent to the conflict zone.
