LUGANSK REGION, 17 March – The military of the Khortytsia separate military unit published unique footage of Bilohorivka after three years of fierce fighting for the village. The video, filmed by the 81st separate airmobile Slobozhanska brigade, shows the ruins of a once peaceful settlement that has become a symbol of the resilience of Ukrainian soldiers.
Three years of the battle for Bilohorivka
“Bila Tserkva is a symbol of the invincibility and power of the paratroopers!
When the enemy stepped on our land in 2022, the paratroopers became a shield to stop the attack.
2023, 2024, 2025. Belogorovka is holding out – we are defending our land!
What is left of the village is not only the deep wounds of war, but also a symbol of the courage of every Ukrainian soldier,” the Khortytsia unit said in a statement.
Since the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has repeatedly attempted to capture Bilohorivka, as this settlement is of strategic importance – it is located at the junction of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, and its control allows either to contain or expand the bridgehead for further offensive actions.
Despite thousands of artillery shellings, bombings and massive attacks by assault groups, Ukrainian soldiers continue to fight for every metre of this land.
Does Belogorovka remain under Ukrainian control?
At the end of February, DeepState analysts designated Bila Tserkva as a “grey zone”, meaning that the territory is unstable.
– On 15 February, DeepState reported that the village was completely in the “grey zone”.
– On 24 February, analysts noted that Russian troops had made some progress.
– As of March, Bilyohorivka was officially under the control of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, despite constant attempts by Russian troops to break through the defences.
What’s next?
Belogorovka, which has remained one of the hottest spots on the frontline for three years in a row, continues to be a fortress that stops the enemy’s advance.
The Ukrainian soldiers defending the village emphasise that they will stand to the last, and every piece of land will be protected.
The desperate resistance of the Ukrainian paratroopers makes Belogorovka not just a strategic point, but a real symbol of heroism and the nation’s resilience.
