Air Haifa: a new era of flights from Haifa
Air Haifa, the first Israeli carrier based at Haifa Airport, has announced that it will start operating in a regular mode from 22 December 2024. The first flight to Eilat will depart on that day at 10:00 am, subject to a stable security situation in the region, Time Ukraine Israel portal reports, citing Vesty.
New routes and convenient flights
The company has announced the opening of several destinations:
- Haifa – Eilat: two flights a day from NIS 189 one-way.
- Haifa – Athens: five flights per week from 2 January 2025. Ticket prices start at $348 for a round-trip flight (excluding baggage). Flights depart from Haifa at 09:00 and from Athens at 13:00.
- Haifa – Larnaca: three daily flights to Cyprus starting at $118 per round-trip ticket.
To improve passenger convenience, Air Haifa is launching a new bus route No. 100 in cooperation with Eged. Buses will run from the central Merkazit HaMifratz station to Haifa Airport every 30 minutes. This will provide a comfortable connection for users of public transport, including trains, buses, metronet and cable cars.
Expansion and prospects of Air Haifa
At the start of operations, the company’s fleet consists of three modern ATR 72-600 aircraft. The fourth aircraft of this model will join the fleet in June 2025. Co-founder and CEO Gonen Usyshkin said that Air Haifa has ambitious plans to expand its route network by the summer season of 2025.
War and temporary changes
During the military operations in northern Israel and rocket attacks, the company operated flights from Ben Gurion Airport, in particular to Larnaca. However, with the return to operations in Haifa, Air Haifa aims to become a key player in the regional air traffic, providing passengers with quality service and competitive prices.
The new capabilities of Air Haifa make Haifa Airport an important transport hub and open a new chapter in the history of Israeli aviation.
