The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a draft agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Japan to attract a grant worth ¥8.8 billion (about $58 million). This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a government meeting on Tuesday, 11 February.
“Today we are making an important decision for our recovery. We are approving a draft agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Japan to attract a grant of 8.8 billion Japanese yen, or about $58 million,” Shmyhal said.
According to the Prime Minister, these funds will be provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and will be used to finance reconstruction projects in Ukraine. This is another important step in cooperation with Japan, which continues to support Ukraine in difficult times.
“I am grateful to our Japanese partners for their consistent and unwavering support,” the Prime Minister added.
The funds are expected to help implement key infrastructure projects and facilitate faster recovery of the affected regions.
