Japanese auto giant Toyota set a new record in February, boosting production outside the country and improving its global sales performance. According to Kyodo News, the company produced 493,418 vehicles outside of Japan, the highest for the month, exceeding the previous record by 0.6%.

One of the key drivers of growth was the expansion of production in China, where volumes increased by 25.6% due to an increase in the number of working days. At the same time, Europe recorded an 18% decline due to a reduction in work shifts, and North America saw a 1.1% decline in production.

Toyota’s domestic production in Japan showed a significant increase of 16.2%, reaching 286,372 units. This had a positive impact on overall sales: global sales increased by 5.8% to 761,717 units, and domestic sales grew by 28.2% to 133,287 vehicles.

The Chinese market remains a key growth driver for Toyota, with sales up 15% thanks to effective advertising campaigns. North America, however, saw a 6.5% decline due to a lack of hybrid models, for which demand continues to grow. In Europe, Toyota showed modest but steady growth of 1.7%.
