Combat in the frontline: the situation is the most intense in the Pokrovsk sector, Russians made 32 attacks

Heavy fighting continues at the frontline, with the most intense in the Pokrovske and Toretske sectors. Since the beginning of the day, 84 combat engagements have taken place, more than half of which took place in these areas.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its operational update as of 16:00 on 13 March.

Main combat areas

  • Kharkiv sector: three enemy attacks in the area of Vovchansk and Doroshivka, one firefight is ongoing.
  • In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops attacked near Holubivka and Bohuslavka, with one firefight ongoing.
  • In theLiman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled five attacks in the areas of Yampolivka, Zelena Dolyna, Novove and Novomykhailivka. Two attacks have already been repelled.
  • In the Northern sector, three attacks were registered, two of them took place in the area of Verkhnekamianske.
  • Kramatorsk sector – one Russian attack in the area of Chasovyi Yar.
  • Toretsk sector11 attacks in the areas of Toretsk and Druzhba, three battles are still ongoing.

Intensified fighting in the Pokrovske sector

The highest level of enemy activity was observed here – 32 attacks in the areas of Yelizavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Uspenivka, Novooleksandrivka, Novosergiyivka, Kotlyarivka, Oleksiyivka and Andriivka.

Ukrainian defence forces repelled 25 attacks.

Seven clashes are still ongoing.

What’s next?

Russian troops continue active assault operations, especially in eastern Ukraine. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back the attack and inflicting significant losses on the enemy. The Ukrainian military is strengthening its positions and conducting counter-battery operations to weaken the offensive potential of the occupiers.
