Mykolaiv has taken an important step in honouring heroism and sacrifice by opening a new park in memory of the Righteous Among the Nations, according to Israel’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky. The park is located around the Holocaust monument as a symbol of eternal remembrance and deep gratitude to the people who risked their lives to save Jews from Nazi persecution during World War II.
The Righteous Among the Nations are those who, finding courage in the most difficult of times, showed great humanity. Among them is Hryhorii Kybulko, the last living Righteous One from Mykolaiv region, who became a symbol of this invaluable courage.
The grand opening of the park, scheduled for the near future, promises to be a significant event for the local community and visitors to the city, emphasising the inviolability of memory and the importance of historical awareness. This place will become a meeting point for those who want to remember and honour those who stood up to unimaginable evil, demonstrating the highest expression of human dignity and courage.
