The Hulu streaming platform has officially started working on the sequel to the cult series Buffy the Vampire Slayer from the 90s.
According to Variety, the new plot will focus on a new protagonist, whose name is still being kept secret.
According to insiders, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Buffy in the cult series, may also join the cast. The star is currently in final negotiations with the show’s creators. It is expected that she will play a minor role and also act as an executive producer alongside Gail Berman.
The new series is written by sisters Nora and Leela Zuckerman and directed by Oscar winner Chloe Zhao, known for her films Nomad Land, The Eternals and The Horseman.
The release date of the sequel has not yet been disclosed, but fans are already waiting for the return of their favourite series.
