On the morning of 4 April, rescuers found the body of another dead person under the rubble of a residential building in Kharkiv that was destroyed by a Russian attack with kamikaze drones. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, and the city’s mayor ,Ihor Terekhov.
“The death toll from the drone attack has risen to 4 people. 32 people were injured,” Sinegubov wrote on Telegram.
Igor Terekhov, in turn, clarified that the total number of victims was 35, including women, men and the elderly.
Background
On the evening of 3 April, Russian forces launched a massive kamikaze drone attack on Kharkiv. One of the strikes caused a fire and destruction of residential infrastructure. Initially, 3 dead and 34 wounded were reported, but later another body was pulled from the rubble.
Rescue operations are ongoing, as people may still be trapped under the rubble. Rescuers, medics and utilities are working at the site.
Kharkiv remains one of the most frequently attacked cities in Ukraine by Russia, especially in recent months, when the intensity of aerial attacks has increased.
